Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
The only way to get to heaven is to know Jesus.
An illustration: Most clubs that have live bands playing get pretty full by 11:30 p.m. If you were to turn up one Thursday, Friday or Saturday night to listen to a band any later than 11:30, you’d probably be met by a bouncer at the door. If he met you at the door and the club was full he would stop you entering. If he met you at the door and for some reason he did not want to let you in, then he wouldn’t.
The only way you could get into the club would be if the bouncer allowed you enter.
Speaking of Jesus the Bible says;
Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God
Jesus is the one who allows people into heaven. Jesus is the only one who can get people into heaven. But He gives everyone a free choice of whether they want to go to heaven or not. The only way to get into heaven is to know Jesus personally.
Imagine when you roll up to the door of heaven and Jesus asks you, “Why should I let you into heaven” What are you going to say? If you were to say, “Oh, I have been the best sort of person I could have been,” or “I know lots about the Bible, I’ve even memorised some of it,” or “I actually know a lot about Jesus”…then He wouldn’t let you in for those reasons alone. You must know Jesus as your personal saviour.
12Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God—13children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God.
