A person does not become a Christian just by going to Church. The bible says;
Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching. Hebrews 10:25 (NIV)
This lets us know that when a person does make a commitment to Jesus Christ, and become a Christian, they are encouraged to meet with other believers. But there is no law which states they have to go to church.
But going to church can be of benefit to a Christian.
An illustration: If you went to a fire of burning coals and took out one of the coals and put it to one side by itself, you would see that it would soon go cold while the other coals all next to each other would remain hot and on fire. That is what church can be for Christians, a place to mix with others for mutually support and encouragement. It can help a person keep ‘on fire’ for God.
